Installation planning · Dallas–Fort Worth
A mounted TV looks finished when the connections and equipment have been planned as carefully as the screen position. Decide how the television will be used before choosing where every cable should end. Streaming, gaming and business presentations can create different connection needs.
Decide where the equipment lives
List the source devices and identify the location of any receiver, streaming device or control equipment. Consider how you will reach connections after the display is mounted. A hidden device still needs suitable ventilation and access for service. Review the mount's requirements and the wall construction with the installer.
Coordinate power and signal paths
Discuss the location of suitable power and any work requiring the appropriate trade. Plan network and AV connections using cable types and installation methods suitable for the route. Avoid assuming that every cable supplied with a device is intended for an in-wall installation. Confirm requirements before the wall is finished.
Check normal use
Review the viewing position and test the agreed source devices. Try switching inputs, controlling volume and accessing the connected equipment. Label cables where several devices share the installation. Keep the connection plan so a future replacement does not begin with guessing which concealed cable goes where.
