Installation planning · Dallas–Fort Worth

A renovation creates an opportunity to improve connections while access is available. It also creates deadlines that can hide unfinished decisions. Put network and AV planning alongside furniture, ceilings and room layouts so the installation supports the finished space.

Resolve destinations before finishes

Mark workstations, meeting tables, displays and access-point locations on the current layout. Check that cable endpoints still match the latest furniture plan. Review the equipment location and service access before storage or millwork occupies the space. Track revisions so different trades are not working from different drawings.

Coordinate work phases

Identify when routes are accessible and when each area must return to use. Agree which systems need to remain available during the work and who manages any cutover. Building approvals and trade responsibilities should be clear. A phased plan should include testing after each affected section, not only at the end of the overall renovation.

Document the finished installation

Keep photographs of concealed routes where useful and update the outlet schedule. Test representative workstations and a normal meeting-room workflow after furniture is installed. Review remaining issues with the responsible parties before closing the project. Good coordination leaves an installation that staff can understand and maintain after the contractors have gone.
