Installation planning · Dallas–Fort Worth
Background music should support the room without forcing one table to sit beside an excessively loud speaker. For a restaurant or café, a useful audio brief describes the occupied areas, the desired atmosphere and who controls the system during a busy shift.
Map the occupied areas
Mark dining tables, the bar, reception and any other areas that need sound. Discuss ceiling construction, speaker locations and the way the room changes between services. Different spaces may need different levels or independent control. A single volume setting may not suit both a quiet dining area and a lively bar.
Coordinate the complete system
Have the amplifier, speakers, wiring and controls designed as a system. Compatibility cannot be established from appearance alone. Identify the music source and arrange any commercial music rights through the relevant service or adviser. Installing speakers does not itself provide permission to play music publicly.
Check with staff in mind
Assess coverage at representative tables and agree useful operating levels. Give staff simple instructions for choosing sources and adjusting the intended zones. Label the controls and identify support responsibilities. Keep future layout changes in the plan: new partitions or a changed seating arrangement can justify another coverage review.

- Appropriate system design and accessible controls
- Music-source and rights responsibilities
- Listening checks and staff handover
